Em 1985 um jovem Professor da Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto – Carlos Moreira da Silva – teve a visão de criar uma associação dedicada à promoção da Gestão e Engenharia Industrial, tópico que à data era praticamente ignorado em Portugal. É assim com enorme gosto que a APGEI se associa à justíssima atribuição do “Prémio Carreira 2021″ pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto ao primeiro entre os primeiros fundadores desta Associação.
